Many members here have different ‘stories’ they tell their loved one to explain symptoms. Some tell them their memory loss / confusion is just down to old age….that tends to be accepted by many.

She appeared to be slowly recovering from her stroke until a series of UTIs ended in a seizure about two and a half years after the stroke.

Oct 24, 2023 · Vascular dementia doesnt follow one particular path - it is very very variable depending on which part of the brain has been affected. @jay6 - it definitely sounds to me that the area of the brain which has been affected in your OH is the frontal lobes, which gives changes to emotional control, decision making and the personality.

  6. Mar 21, 2014 · This is actually quite common in the late stages of dementia or the last stages of life. There is a bit of a vicious circle that develops. The person reduces their intake of food and fluids. This in turn causes the body to react by conserving energy and so the person becomes more immobile and likely to sleep.
