"The Stranger Wore a Gun" was one of a series of westerns made around the period of the early 1950's that starred Scott and were directed by the one eyed Hungarian émigré Andre De Toth. This also included the excellent "Man in the Saddle". Although admittedly not classics they are very good westerns.
