  2. Jan 9, 2008 · So my answer is based on gut-instinct. I would say... "Wie heisst das auf Deutsch?" refers to how to say something in German. I'd translate it (freely) as "How would you say that in German?" "Was heisst das auf Deutsch?" in my opinion refers to objects, for instance, whilst pointing at a table I might ask it.

In my region it is only used for the snail, while "Schnegge" is used in coll. regional (endearing) language for a girlfriend, but more often for a little (young) daughter, mostly for a baby.

Does he do all of his homework? b) Does Peter do homework in the evenings? Does he do homework (or something else)? Context is everything, though.
