Summary of the Play The Harrowing of Hell is a dramatic interpretation of Christ’s storming of hell to release all the souls of the faithful, going back to Adam and Eve. The scene starts with the angels approaching hell, getting into a dramatic dialogue with Lucifer who tries in vain to keep the souls behind locked gates.
