  2. Dec 31, 2014 · If the header on the third page shows "Section 9", it sounds as if you either have a lot of continuous page section breaks, or hidden text. You should be able to display most of these things using the show/hide button (Home tab, Paragraph group).

  3. Title page. Page immediately following the title page. Either side of the front or back cover. First or last page of the main body of the work. So, is including a prominent copyright notice on a single page of your product sufficient? It may depend on how your product is going to be distributed.

    • Prepare your document. To number pages starting from page two and higher in Microsoft Word, you must divide your document into sections. Section breaks allow you to start numbering different pages beginning with number one.
    • Insert page numbers. We'll start by inserting page numbers for the whole document. In the top ribbon, click the Insert tab, find the Header & Footer section, and click on the Page Number dropdown menu.
    • Deselect the Link to Previous option. Next, we want to unlink this page numbering between the two sections you created in the preparation phase.
    • Choose a number to start page numbering. By discontinuing the numbering between the two sections, you’re now able to start numbering from your chosen page.
