Demonoid was always just barely private, and it took effectively zero effort to join. Whether that's good or bad is subjective. But it does mean that it wasn't "desired," insofar as anybody who wanted access could obtain it with negligible effort. And all the downvotes show how people are steady in their beliefs. That's one possible explanation.
