After Justine Essex (Charlotte Ross) is named a suspect in the death of her friend, Vicky Gilmore (Kimberly Cockrell), her mother, Susan (Katey Sagal) tries to prove that Justine is innocent of the crime.

Ken Tucker from Entertainment Weekly gave "She Said She's Innocent" a C-minus, calling it an "otherwise aimless drama." Michael Hill from The Baltimore Evening Sun said that the film is "guilty of cliche" and that a "gimmicky conceit holds the suspense of "She Says She's Innocent" together for most of its two hours."
