Rooster is the overarching protagonist of Illumination's 10th feature film The Secret Life of Pets 2. He is a Welsh Sheepdog who works on a farm in which Max and Duke are visiting. He lives on a farm with his owner, a farmer, who is the uncle of Katie 's husband.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 is a 2019 animated comedy and the sequel to 2016's The Secret Life of Pets. Max ( now voiced by Patton Oswalt ) and Duke's owner Katie marries a man named Chuck, and the two have a son named Liam.
When Max, Duke and their family reach a farm owned by Chuck's uncle, Max is initially unaccustomed to its way of life. Local Welsh Sheepdog Rooster tells him to get over his insecurities about Liam and ditches his dog cone. After Max tries and fails to emulate Rooster's herding skills, Rooster enlists him to find Cotton, a lost lamb.
Luckily, Max gets some guidance from veteran farm dog Rooster (Harrison Ford, making his animated-film debut), who pushes Max to find his inner alpha.
