Once the hermit confronts Dan for spying on him, it kicks into gear, and the chemistry between the two men is the energy the film needs to progress. The Rooster is about two men learning how to cope with the loss in their lives.

However, The Rooster is not an easy film to watch and many in the audience may find it too confronting or unsettling.
