No, the Norwegian prewar uniform for the rank and file did not include a Y- or X-harness. Carrying gear was a belt with two ammunition pouches, a separate gas mask carrier on a shoulder strap, and a rucksack. Officers sometimes used a Sam Browne style belt or "x-harness to hold their belt up, in addition to carriers for binoculars, maps, etc.
