The sequel to Shelley, Hywel Bennett returns as the legendary James Shelley. Shelley is now middle-aged. The Return of Shelley was a Thames Television production. Perhaps fittingly, the last episode was broadcast in Thames's last autumn as holder of the London weekday ITV broadcasting franchise.
