Plagued by horrific visions, and tormented by sinister manifestations of evil while at university, the troubled nineteen-year-old college student, Emily Rose, resorts to exorcism, only to die a horrible death.
In 1976, the Catholic Church officially recognized the demonic possession of an 19-year-old German college freshman. During her exorcism, the young woman died, and the priest stood trial for causing her death. The script unfolds Rashomon style with different points of view recounting the events.
