Director. Marko Stemper, 19 years old, comes from a disadvantaged background and works as a window cleaner. His father, an alcoholic, tyrannizes the whole family, so Marko's only joy in life is boxing. As he is the most promising talent in his club, Gerd Hermsbach, a local demimonde boss, offers him the opportunity to become a professional.
With his irascible alcoholic father, helpless mother and sister, 19-year-old Marko lives in a dreary Duisburg high-rise housing estate. A way out of the desolate situation is offered by the boxing ring. (text: kino.de)

"Elefantenherz" or "Elephant Heart" or "Boxing" is a German 95-minute film from 2002 and this year is considered by many Daniel Brühl's best career year. This one we got here is certainly among his lesser known works, but he really is the center of it all, the heart and soul of the movie.
