Vyjayanthimala Bali (née Raman; born 13 August 1933) known mononymously as Vyjayanthimala an Indian parliamentarian, dancer and former actress. Regarded as one of Indian cinema's finest actresses and dancers, she is the recipient of several accolades, including five Filmfare Awards and two BFJA Awards.
Vyjayanthimala is a Vaishnavite and a pure vegetarian. She is a devotee of Aandaal, one of the 12 Alvar saints of South India. She used to invoke Aandaal before any public performance to gain blessings. Vyjayanthimala has received 18 awards and 19 nominations in her life.

Vyjayanthimala won the Best Actress Filmfare Award three times, for her roles in _Sadhana (1958)_, Gunga Jumna (1961), and Sangam (1964). She also helped pave the way for more agile and beauteous South Indian actresses, from Hema Malini to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, to conquer the Hindi film industry.
