May 30, 2023 · Asda, owned by the Issa brothers and Walmart, announces the acquisition of EG Group's convenience, fuel and foodservice operations for £2.27bn. The deal will create a new value-led consumer champion with combined revenues of nearly £30bn and 21m customers per week.

Oct 31, 2023 · The acquisition of EG Group’s UK business will create a group with expected combined revenues of nearly £28bn, serving some 21m customers every week. It will also bring together convenience, fuel, GM, grocery, foodservice and omni-channel retailing – under Asda’s heritage in value and ‘customer first’ retail.
