Maarten Cornelis "Martin" Jol (born 16 January 1956) is a Dutch football manager and former midfielder. He played over 400 games during his career which included spells in the Netherlands, Germany and England, as well as earning three caps with the Netherlands national team.
One of the highlights for Martin Jol during this period was playing in the farewell game for his boyhood hero Johan Cruyf; Bayern Munich beat Ajax with a dramatic 8-0 score in the Olympic stadium of Amsterdam. After one season, Martin Jol left Munich to join FC Twente on a three year contract; here he enjoyed two very good seasons.
