Douglas Norman Wilmer (8 January 1920 – 31 March 2016) was an English actor, best known for playing Sherlock Holmes in the 1965 TV series Sherlock Holmes.
Douglas Wilmer (1920-2016) was a British actor and writer, known for his roles in Octopussy, Jason and the Argonauts, and El Cid. He also wrote an autobiography series about Sherlock Holmes and painted from his home in Suffolk, England.
