Marius Re Goring CBE FRSL (23 May 1912 – 30 September 1998) was an English stage and screen actor. He is best remembered for the four films he made with Powell & Pressburger , particularly as Conductor 71 in A Matter of Life and Death and as Julian Craster in The Red Shoes . [2]

Marius Goring was educated at Perse School, Cambridge, England and at the Universities of Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Paris. He studied for the stage under Harcourt Williams at the Old Vic dramatic school, London.

British character actor Marius Goring has died of cancer at the age of 86. His agent said he passed away on Wednesday night at his home in West Sussex with his wife Prudence by his side. Created a CBE in 1991, he began his stage career at the age of 13, and featured in an array of films including I Was Monty's Double, The Red Shoes and The Barefoot Contessa.
Marius Goring was a British actor who appeared in stage, film and radio. He was a founder member of UK Equity, the Actor's Union, and received the CBE for his services to drama.
