Dec 21, 2018 · Donald Moffat, the veteran character actor best known for playing the role of M.T. Garry in John Carpenter’s film The Thing, has died. Moffat died on December 20th at the age of 87, a few days before his 88th birthday after suffering complications from a recent stroke, his daughter confirmed.
