Cologne’s Senking (Jens Massel) has always been something of an odd man out in Raster-Noton’s roster of artists (Alva Noto, Byetone, Bretschneider and the like), a raggedly round peg in a sea of sharp/square-angled holes.

Walker's intention on Stabiles was to create tracks like static objects -- not through-composed music, but static sound-objects inspired by Calder's mobiles.

I wonder if Jens Massel knows what a ‘pong’ is to us Brits – don’t suppose he cares. Apparently the title refers to a ‘classic video game’, but if you think that signals a collection of retro-bleeps and whacky, playful noises, think again.
