  8. Jack Binder was born in Austria-Hungary in 1902, and moved to the United States in 1910. He attended fine art courses at the Chicago Art Institute. Binder joined the Harry "A" Chesler comic shop in 1937 as the group's art director. In 1940 he left the Chesler studio and formed his own shop.
