Oren Safdie (Hebrew: אורן ספדיה; born April 20, 1965) is a Canadian-American-Israeli playwright and screenwriter, and the son of architect Moshe Safdie.
Oren Safdie is a Canadian-born writer, playwright and essayist who has worked in theatre, film and television. He is known for his plays Private Jokes, Public Places, Unseamly and False Solution, and his screenplays You Can Thank Me Later and Bittersweet.

Oren Safdie attended the Graduate School of Architecture at Columbia University before turning his attention to playwriting. After receiving his MFA — also from Columbia — he was awarded a Woolrich Fellowship, which he used to launch The West End Gate Theatre on New York’s Upper West Side.
