Chad Beguelin (born September 24, 1969) is an American playwright and lyricist. He wrote the lyrics and co-wrote the book for The Prom. He also wrote the book for Disney's Aladdin, as well as additional lyrics for the score. He was nominated for Best Original Book and Best Original Score for Aladdin.
He is the recipient of the Edward Kleban Award for Outstanding Lyric Writing, the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Awards, the Gilman & Gonzalez-Falla Musical Theater Award and the ASCAP Foundation Richard Rodgers New Horizons Award. Chad is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Dramatic Writing Program.

Jul 10, 2023 · About a million years ago, I wrote him a handful of stories and gave it to Dad for his birthday. I called the collection “Stuff My Father Taught Me”. I’ve hopefully grown as a writer, but if these rudimentary short stories do nothing else, at least they might convey a little of the magic that was Dr. Jerry L. Beguelin.
