The screenplay was penned by both Parker and Chris Gerolmo, even though the vision is almost completely Parker’s. Gerolmo wrote two drafts of the script, but Parker didn’t find them satisfying. Their collaboration became strenuous, egos were hurt and Parker was ultimately given one month by the Orion Pictures studio to finish the script.
