If you want to getinto standard times you need to make a whole set of figs on your own only to realise what little use figs are on the turf and uk in general. However whilst building my figures i understood how figs are achieved.

I have my handicap ratings on the Racing Post server, and I have noticed especially with the 2yo races when checking the results, that the final RPR ratings given to the 2yo’s, can change up to 3 times in the space of a week.

May 16, 2007 · Total Posts 1736. class tells, Briefly, Racing Post Ratings (RPR) and Topspeed are on the same scale and both are calculated and adjusted for weight carried. Topspeed generally lags behind RPR because not all races are run at a true pace, so that while every race is assessed for RPR, only a fraction of races produce worthwhile speed ratings.

Aug 1, 2010 · 43 of the horses were even money to 2/1 at s.p and 26 won , a strike rate of 60%. leaving 51 horses that were 9/4 upwards of which 9 won a strike rate of 17.6% which does bring the overall strike rate down alot . of the 73 horses that had a s.p of 2/1 or under 47 won giving a strike rate of 64%. so you can see the figures so far are good for ...

Suppose I haven’t realised much of a change because of concentrating on top quality pre-race betting which has held up more than other types. True, I myself no longer go racing, so no longer have bets in grade 3 and 4 races.
