He was a writer and actor, known for Das literarische Quartett (1988), Television Theater (1953) and Mein Leben - Marcel Reich-Ranicki (2009). He was married to Teofila Reich-Ranicki. He died on 18 September 2013 in Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany.
