Over the past twenty years, Wajdi Mouawad has risen to fame in Canada and internationally, acclaimed for the power of his writing and the originality of his vision as a theatre director. He is the author of an epic quartet for the stage, The Blood of Promises (Tideline, Scorched, Forests, Heavens), and two novels, Visage retrouvé and Anima, which garnered numerous prizes and distinctions.
Wajdi Mouawad Born in 1968, author, actor, and director Wajdi Mouawad spends his early childhood in Lebanon, his adolescence in France, and his young adult years in Quebec before settling in France, where he now lives. He studied in Montreal at École nationale de théâtre du Canada, and is awarded a diploma in performance in 1991.
