Be sure to use proper anti-static procedures when you handle the NVRAM. Some of these routers are 3640 and 3660.

Mar 28, 2021 · The initial password was "password", then the setup changed it to @newdig. I tried to gain access to router configeration settings (192.168.0.1) but was again denied access and offered a password reset again - serial number, secret questions, I again got the "@newdig" password - BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!! I am denied access no matter what I do.

Boot the router into ROMMON mode ( Standard Break Key Sequences) Once the router is on, reinsert the flash. Change the configuration register to 0x2142 at the rommon 1> prompt in order to boot from the IOS image in flash.
