This book reintroduces Dr. Yukawa, a physicist who moonlights as an off-the-record detective of the Tokyo Police Department, thus earning the moniker “Detective Galileo”.

The script is a little unfocused in its themes and typically a tad sentimental and predictable, especially if you're familiar with Higashino Keigo, but Midsummer's Equation is solidly acted, suitably cinematic enough in feel, and altogether not a bad emotional journey. I'm biased though, Yukawa was and still is one of my all-time favourite fictional dudes.
