Bob Wilson. Arsenal (1963-1973). 1943. Birmingham. Goalkeeper. Went into television for the BBC and ITV until his retirement in 2002. Also spent 28 years coaching the goalkeepers at Arsenal, nowadays helps run the Willow Foundation, a charity set up in the memory of his late daughter Anna who died from a cancer.

Throughout his playing career I would always tell Bob: “All goalkeepers are mad and you are madder than most.”.
Once established Bob Wilson became indispensable and his courageous displays earned him the praise and respect of soccer fans and fellow professionals alike. He was an integral part of the famous Arsenal double-winning side of 1970-71, winning a League Championship medal and an F.A.Cup Winners medal as Arsenal beat Liverpool at Wembley on May 8th 1971.
