This movie reminded me a lot of 1408. A lot of psychological horror. I really hate horror movies that are like "look guys! tons of blood and guts! are you scared of all the blood yet!?" So Oculus is a breath of fresh air. The idea of an evil mirror seems super typical and bland but the director did a great job of turning it into a good movie.
