Nonsuch was to be called ‘Nonsuch County School for Girls’. When full it was going to provide a school for 490 girls. There are now over 1500. Entry to the School. As today, there was an entrance examination to get into the school. The first exam took place on 21st December 1937 and successful girls paid school fees of 4 pounds and 4 shillings.

Facilities. Every girl had her own desk in which to store her books and equipment. These lasted until late in the 20th century when they were replaced by tables and lockers. Since the school was built in 1938 there have been many additions. The Drama block was originally the new Science block, and it was finished in 1976.
Year 9 Options Process. We offer a very broad range of subjects at Key Stage 4. Our offer for 2024-26 includes English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Triple Science, a half course in Religious Studies and a modern foreign language. All students study for at least ten GCSE qualifications and some opt to study for ten and a half.
