NHK General TV is the flagship nationwide television channel of the Japanese public broadcaster, NHK which was launched on February 1, 1953 as the county's first free-to-air television channel. It broadcasts nationwide on channel 1, but for commercial stations that air on channel 1, the channel is located on channel 3 instead.
