Jay Stern February 21, 2023 Strands of Light , a short film compilation inspired by the stories of Jorge Luis Borges, which I created with filmmakers Joan Grossman and Alan McIntyre Smith along with filmmaking students at Rider University, was recently accepted into the Clermont-Ferrand film market, and will be screening in March at the Short.
Jay Stern has directed four feature films and more than 30 short films which have screened across the US, Canada, and Europe. His latest feature film Dead Storage is currently in development. Jay is a founder, producer, and co-host of the Iron Mule Short Comedy Screening Series, which has been screening monthly since April, 2002.
After twelve years as a studio executive at Disney and New Line, Stern joined Rat Entertainment in 2001, serving as President and running the day-to-day operations until 2009, as well as producing its movies. In 2009, he co-founded Route One Films, an independent movie production and finance company, where he acted as CEO for five years.

A relative newcomer to the Maine art community, Ohio-born artist Jay Stern moved to the state from Seattle in 2021. In this short time, he has made an impact with his jewel-toned paintings that hover on the edge between abstraction and representation.
Bio. Herbert J. Stern is the founding member in the law firm of Stern Kilcullen & Rufolo. Stern received a B.A. degree from Hobart College and a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School and holds five honorary degrees. Stern was an Assistant District Attorney, New York County, Homicide Bureau.
