- Murrumbidgee Discovery Track. At the Centenary’s southern end, the well-signposted Discovery Trail meanders through rolling fields and bushland, the deliciously flowing track a boon for walkers and mountain bikers of most levels.

Oct 15, 2009 · Could anyone give us some tips on small country towns within an hour or two of Canberra that are worth making the effort to visit? We are looking for great little country pubs, unique shopping experiences, B&B’s, restaurants etc.
At the same time, the towns of Jindabyne and Cooma are beautiful places near Canberra, where you can stop and explore. A day skiing in the Snowy Mountains. Visit the heritage-listed Braidwood. You can reach Braidwood in just over an hour’s drive east of Canberra. This charming heritage-listed town is full of history.
