Douglas Elton Fairbanks Jr. (December 9, 1909 – May 7, 2000) was an American actor, producer, and decorated naval officer of World War II. He is best-known for starring in such films as The Prisoner of Zenda (1937), Gunga Din (1939), and The Corsican Brothers (1941).

Douglas Fairbanks Jr.. Actor: The Prisoner of Zenda. Although he appeared in approximately 100 movies and TV shows, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. never really intended to take up acting as a career.
He had two half-brothers, John Fairbanks Jr. and Norris Wilcox, [4] and a full brother, Robert Payne Ullman. His father, known as Charles, was born in Berrysburg, Pennsylvania, and raised in Williamsport. He was the fourth child in a Jewish family consisting of six sons and four daughters.
The actor and Naval Reserve officer recounts his experiences in the Atlantic and Mediterranean theaters, his relationship with President Roosevelt, and his views on Pearl Harbor and Hitler. He also shares his memorabilia and opinions on his book A Hell of a War.
