Cardiff castle is easily one of the most beautiful castles I’ve ever seen. Whilst the inner walls and the courtyard of the castle are free to visit, it’s really worth buying a ticket to see everything the castle has to offer. The state rooms are so intricately decorated and have so many hidden details, you could really spend hours in each room.

Oct 9, 2023 · Is Cardiff Castle Worth Visiting? Yes, Cardiff Castle is absolutely worth visiting! You can go into the castle courtyard for free where you’ll see the Norman keep standing proudly in the middle. There’s a lovely little cafe in the courtyard and they occasionally have events here too.
- Cardiff cuisine is on the up. Pick of the city centre restaurants is The Potted Pig, which occupies the vaults of an old bank, and where – yep, you guessed it – pork reigns supreme.
- It’s an unrivalled place to watch world-class sport. Quite simply, rugby is king here, and the natives love nothing more than shouting themselves hoarse at an international inside the magnificent Principality Stadium.
- Cardiff Bay is one of Europe’s best regeneration projects. Once one of the world’s busiest docks – when it was rather more romantically known as Tiger Bay – Cardiff Bay has been utterly transformed over the past decade, and the results are dazzling.
