    Kim Braden (born November 1949; age 74) is a British actress who portrayed Ensign Janet Brooks in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episode "The Loss". Four years later she portrayed the wife of Jean-Luc Picard, Elise Picard, in Star Trek Generations which was directed by her husband David Carson. Hailing from London, England, Braden is the daughter of actor and producer Bernard Braden and actress Barbara Kelly. In the late 1980s she and her husband along with their two children relocated in Los Angeles, California.

    Braden started her career alongside her parents in the 1960s on the British television series The Rolling Stones and B and B. She had a supporting role in the adventure movie Wolfshead: The Legend of Robin Hood (1969) and portrayed Joan Crawford's daughter in the horror film Trog (1970). Braden acted as Anne Shirley in the television mini series Anne of Green Gables (1972) and Anne of Avonlea (1975) and had guest roles in episodes of Justice (1971), Armchair Theatre (1973), Z Cars (1973), Laugh-In (1977), Penmarric (1979), and ITV Playhouse (1980).

    Her film credits include the drama That'll Be the Day (1973) and the action film Billyboy (1979). The following years she appeared on the television series Nobody's Perfect (1980), To Serve Them All My Days (1980), Have I Got You... Where You Want Me (1981), Travelling Man (1984), and Spearfield's Daughter (1986, starring Christopher Plummer) for which she received a Gemini Award nomination for Best Performance by a Lead Actress in a Single Dramatic Program or Mini-Series.

    Prior to her appearance on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Braden played Marilyn Houston in two episodes of Alien Nation (1990, with Gary Graham, Eric Pierpoint, Michele Scarabelli, Ron Fassler, Armin Shimerman, David Selburg, Bob Minor, Geoffrey Blake, and Thomas Knickerbocker). One of these two episodes was directed by her husband.
