It was initially performed in May 2005. The Mario Opera now has a large internet following, and was featured in Maxim Magazine and on G4 television.
This website was created specifically for the early versions of the The Mario Opera. When the site's domain registration expired, a new owner quickly scooped up the site. As a Nintendo aficionado whose own kids played Super Mario Bros. for hours, the new owner decided to keep as much of the site's original content as possible, while adding additional content from outside sources.
