   • Getting to Lecce is easy by both car, plane, or public transport. The city has no airport though and its train station is small, so it does not have many connections with larger cities in Italy.    • Lecce is sometimes described as having a beach, though the town lies several miles from the sea. The beach in question is a stretch of Adriatic coast at San Cataldo, with bus connections from the town centre. For a really nice seaside day out though, it’s worth travelling further, to lovely Otranto.
