Elorrio is located at the easternmost point of Biscay, in the comarca of Durangaldea, northern Spain. It limits at north with Berriz and Zaldibar at northwest with Abadiño, at west with Atxondo, at east with the province of Gipuzkoa and at south with the province of Álava.
Located in front of the hermitage of San Adrián, it is one of the most important funeral monuments in the Basque Autonomous Region, as it has 23 graves. In addition to this, near the hermitage of Santa Catalina we will find the Berriozabaleta Fountain, replica of one of Inca origin.
In 1964 Elorrio was the first village in Vizcaya to be receive the Spanish Cultural Property designation. The village is 41 kilometres from Bilbao, in the Duranguesado Valley, surrounded by mountains. It is very interesting for its palace architecture.
Elorrio is located in Bizkaia, in the comarca known as Durangaldea. Bordering the Basque provinces of Gipuzkoa and Araba by way of Arrasate and Ibarra, it sits on the Besaide mountainside where the three historical regions of the Southern Basque Country meet.
