In the 2004–05 season, ABC Kids dropped its two remaining original series, Fillmore! and Recess (the latter of which was airing in reruns on the block since it ended in 2001).
The block's final broadcast was on August 27, 2011. On September 3, 2011, it was replaced by Litton's Weekend Adventure, making it the first time the block was not controlled by ABC/Disney since 1995 .

Jun 2, 2024 · Also concluding today is ABC TV Plus renamed as ABC Family, and incorporating ABC Kids in the daytime then from 7:30pm family titles aimed at older teens and co-viewing titles. It was rebranded in 2021 from ABC Comedy (formerly ABC2), as “a place to feed the mind, the heart and the funny bone.”
From Monday 13 February, ABC Kids will revert to the 2022 broadcast schedule, finishing at 7.30pm. Why is the ABC Kids finish time changing back to 7.30pm? We are aware that families build their routines around ABC Kids broadcast, especially at the start and end of the day.
On September 14, 2002, Disney renamed One Saturday Morning to ABC Kids. The block originally had new programs, but by the end, all of ABC Kids programs became repeats of Disney Channel originals.
