Synopsis. A naive, unintelligent, socially inept, loud-mouth cowboy, Beauregard Decker (Don Murray), and his friend and father-figure Virgil Blessing (Arthur O'Connell) take the bus from Timber Hill, Montana to Phoenix, Arizona, to participate in a rodeo.
