Given that so much of what makes Chaos Seeds great is the personalities back at Mist Village, separating Richter from all of them, but having him still have to, you know, do stuff, just made the whole thing bland as hell. I realised it when I reread the series last time - the sequences where Richter is alone and underground are undeniably the worst, even the ones earlier on.

Chaos Seeds was my first litrpg so I kind of have a soft spot for the series despite… issues. With the exception of book 8, I feel like most of the series is relatively compelling. It helps listening to the audiobooks, Nick is a fantastic narrator.
