Steven Brown Goldberg (14 October 1941 – 17 December 2022) [1] was the chair of the Department of Sociology at the City College of New York from 1988 until his retirement in 2008. Goldberg was the son of Israel J. and Claire (née Brown) Goldberg. He grew up in New York City.
