There are a total of 26 Endings in NieR:Automata, each one associated with a letter in the Latin Alphabet.
The first five endings, A-E, are the game's main endings and are required to experience the full story of Automata. The remaining 21 endings are joke or hidden endings that can occur by failing missions, killing friendly NPCs, or making certain choices in side quests.

- Ending A: How to Unlock. Ending A is known as Flowers for machines. When you first boot up Nier Automata, you will play through the prologue section of the game and then meet 9S.
- Ending B Explained. Ending B is known as “or not to Be.” This ending sees the player playing as 9S mainly. This route and ending play out considerably similarly to the original Ending a. However, the difference is you find out some shocking information about Yorha and humanity in general.
- Ending C. Ending C is Meaningless Code. To get this ending, players will have to play through the entire game a third time. This third playthrough will shed further light on the events of the world of Nier Automata and introduce you to playing as A2, the final playable protagonist in the storyline.
- Ending D. This ending is mainly similar to the previous one. It is Ending D, which is known as Childhood’s End. This ending sees the player taking on the role of 9S in the final battle.
- Ending A: flowers for m[A]chines. Load the cleared save from beating the game once and earning Ending A. Play through the game again and complete all of the Main Story Quests to achieve this ending.
- Ending B: or not to [B]e. Load up and play through the game a third time. For the final boss battle, choose A2. Note: If 9S is chosen instead, you can quickly acquire this ending by opening Chapter Select and choosing Ch.
- Ending C: meaningless [C]ode. Load up and play through the game a third time. For the final boss battle, choose A2. Note: If 9S is chosen instead, you can quickly acquire this ending by opening Chapter Select and choosing Ch.
- Ending D: chil[D]hood’s end. During your third playthrough, choose 9S for the final boss battle. During the text portion, you'll have 2 choices: "I'll go with you" or "I'll stay".
