Vyzhnytsia (/ ˈvɪʒnɪts (j) ə /; Ukrainian: Вижниця [ˈwɪʒnɪtsʲɐ]; ‹See Tfd› German: Wischnitz; Polish: Wyżnica; Romanian: Vijnița; Russian: Вижница, romanized: Vizhnitsa; Yiddish: וויזשניץ, romanized: Vizhnitz) is a small city located in the historical region of Bukovina, on the Cheremosh River in Chernivtsi Oblast of western Ukraine.

Vyzhnytsia National Nature Park (NNP) combines the beauty of rolling foothills and immense natural diversity. The thick forest cover blanketing the landscape conceals incredible ecosystems, as well as several sites of substantial natural, historical, and architectural importance.
Vyzhnytsia National Nature Park is a protected area in south-western Ukraine which administration is located in the town Berehomet. The park has 87 employees with 6 of them working in the scientific section and 29 in the security service.
Located in the border area between the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains and Subcarpathia, this national park features typical lower mountain landscapes characteristic of the Cheremosh River and Seret River basins with variegated ground cover, smoothly-shaped mountains with gentle slopes, wide valleys as well as rock formations and waterfalls.
Vyzhnytsky NP is located in the basins of the Cheremosh river (right tributary of the Prut river) and the Siret river (left tributary of the Danube). There are mineral springs on the territory of the park, for instance Luzhky, abundant in iron ions, magnesium and aluminium.

Vyzhnytsia [Вижниця; Vyžnycja]. Map: V-6. A city (2001 pop 5,021) on the Cheremosh River and raion center in Chernivtsi oblast. It was first mentioned in historical documents at the end of the 15th century, when it was part of the Moldavian principality. In 1774 it was annexed by Austria.
