Recommendation. This movie has: A top 5 1990's Aesthetic. A top 3 Jack Black Performance. Peak Lisa Bonet. All the characters are just brilliant in their roles. While Jack Black steals the movie John Cusack, Iben Hjejle, Tim Robbins and Catherine Zeta-Jones turn in great performances.
Most film adaptations of novels either jettison large parts of it, all of the dialogue, or are so faithful as to be preposterous movies. High Fidelity manages to pull it off, all while changing the setting from a very British London and all it's trappings to Chicago, without losing a thing.

High Fidelity is just good comedy. It's fun, it's entertaining, and above all, it's refreshing because of it's relative originality. There are plenty of memorable scenes in the film, many because of their sheer, if illogical, hilarity.
