Anything For Her restores feeling and humanity to scenes we see played out far too often in an utterly meaningless way. It packs in a good deal of action and excitement for those who like traditional thrillers, and it's packed with suspense, but it's the astute way it subverts the genre that really makes it stand out.
There are some good performances in Anything for Her. The lead is Vincent Lindon, a stoic man who might not have much emotional range, but his determination is enough to make you care for him. Diane Kruger gets the more emotional part as the woman struggling to cope with her prison sentence, and there’s one scene here which is incredibly strong.
Anything for Her (French: Pour elle) is a 2008 French thriller film starring Diane Kruger and Vincent Lindon, and is the directorial debut of Fred Cavayé. An American remake of the film, The Next Three Days, was released in 2010 and an Indian remake, Savi was released in 2024.
