As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 7,343, [9] [10] an increase of 221 (+3.1%) from the 2010 census count of 7,122, [19] [20] which in turn reflected a decline of 15 (−0.2%) from 7,137 in 2000. Rumson was officially incorporated as a Borough in 1907. Rumson is situated on a picturesque peninsula overlooking the ocean. The Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers bound it. Blessed with this unique location and a natural beauty, the Rumson Peninsula was obviously an attractive site.
